So I just read this article about the top 10 fantasy movies of all time according to the American Film Institute (AFI). It was super interesting, and I had no idea some of these films even existed!
Basically, the AFI put together this list of the best fantasy movies based on factors like lasting impact, critical acclaim, and cultural relevance. Some of the movies that made the cut were classics like The Wizard of Oz and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, while others were lesser-known gems like Harvey and A Matter of Life and Death.
Personally, I totally agree with the AFI’s choice to include The Princess Bride. That movie is an absolute classic and I’ve probably watched it a million times. Inconceivable!
But what I found most interesting about the article was learning about some of the lesser-known fantasy movies. I had never even heard of A Matter of Life and Death, but now I’m definitely going to check it out.
Overall, I think this article is important because it helps us appreciate the impact that fantasy movies have had on our culture and entertainment industry. Whether you’re a die-hard LOTR fan or prefer something more whimsical like Mary Poppins, there’s definitely a fantasy movie out there for everyone.
