So I just read this article about the 10 good, but not great animated movies from the 21st century. It was pretty interesting. The article ranked these movies based on their overall quality, and there were definitely some surprises on the list.
From what I gather, the top three movies were Inside Out, Wall-E, and Toy Story 3. No real shockers there, but the rest of the list had some unexpected titles like Up, The Incredibles, and Coco.
I personally agree with some of the choices, but there were a few films I felt deserved a higher ranking. For example, I thought Finding Nemo was a masterpiece and should have been higher up.
One thing I found particularly interesting was the emphasis on non-Disney/Pixar films. It’s great to see other studios producing quality animated films.
Overall, the article was a fun read and reminded me of some great films I hadn’t thought about in a while. I think it’s important to keep recognizing and celebrating great art in all its forms, including animated movies. Who knows? Maybe one of these “good-but-not-great” films could become a new favorite for someone.
