A Plus-Size Influencer Was Told a Fitness Class Was Too Hard for Her

I just stumbled upon this article, “A Plus-Size Influencer Was Told a Fitness Class Was Too Hard for Her,” and it really lit a fire in me. It’s such an important topic and yet so often overlooked. The article talks about a plus-size influencer named Kenzie Brenna who was told by her Spin instructor that the class might be too hard for her. This type of discrimination against overweight individuals in the fitness industry has been going on for far too long. Not only is it demotivating for us, but it’s also perpetuating harmful stereotypes that only certain body types are welcome in gyms.

Although I’ve never personally experienced this type of discrimination in a fitness class, I’ve definitely felt the societal pressure to have a certain body type. It’s frustrating that some people still can’t see beyond physical appearance and are more concerned with outward appearances than actual health.

The story ends on a positive note, though. Kenzie challenged this fat-shaming in a viral video and received an outpouring of support from many people who agreed with her. It’s great to see individuals standing up against this type of discrimination in all forms.

Overall, this article is an important reminder that we need to continue pushing for body positivity and acceptance across all industries, including fitness. Everyone deserves the opportunity to work out and live a healthy life, regardless of their size.
