Biden's Dreamy Quest for EVs 'Recipe for National Immobility'

So, I read this article titled “Biden’s Dreamy Quest for EVs ‘Recipe for National Immobility’” and boy, did it catch my attention! Essentially, the article argues that Biden’s push for electric vehicles (EVs) is a recipe for disaster because it will lead to national immobility. According to the piece, the current infrastructure is not equipped to handle the influx of EVs that Biden is hoping for, and the government is not prepared for the consequences that will ensue.

To summarize, the author argues that we need more than just EVs to tackle the problem of climate change. Instead, we need to invest in better infrastructure that can accommodate these vehicles, as well as more sustainable forms of transportation like biking and public transportation. While I can see their point, I do think that EVs are an important step in the right direction.

Personally, I’ve been to countries where sustainable transportation is the norm, and it’s pretty amazing. In Amsterdam, for example, everyone bikes everywhere, and it’s so much cleaner and healthier than relying on cars. This article made me think about how we could adopt similar practices here in the US, and how we’ll need to make adjustments to our infrastructure to make that possible.

All in all, I think this is an important conversation to have. We need to balance our desire for environmentally-friendly transportation with our need for functional transportation. Hopefully, through investing in better infrastructure and exploring alternative modes of transportation, we can strike that balance and create a more sustainable future.
