So I came across this really cool article about the classic western TV series, Bonanza, and guess what? They released a full 5-hour long movie! I mean, who has time for that? But anyway, it’s season one episodes 07 through 12 in stunning 1080p quality.
In a nutshell, the movie tells the story of the Cartwright family who owns a large ranch called the Ponderosa in Nevada. They face various challenges and conflicts while fighting for their land and protecting their family. It’s a quintessential western, complete with gunfights, horses, and saloons.
Now, I have to admit, I haven’t watched much of Bonanza before, but my grandpa used to love it. He’d sit in his armchair with his cowboy hat on and his boots propped up on the ottoman, totally engrossed in the show. So reading this article kind of took me back to those days, and I found it really interesting to learn about the history of the show and how it paved the way for other popular westerns.
One thing that stood out to me was how the show tackled social issues of the time, such as racism and prejudice. It was pretty progressive for its time, and I think that’s what made it so beloved by audiences.
Overall, I think it’s really cool that this movie exists, even if it’s a little long for my taste. It’s a great way to revisit a classic TV show and appreciate its importance in television history.
