So, I was reading this article about this famous restaurateur in Boston named Barbara Lynch, and let me tell you, it was pretty shocking stuff.
Basically, a bunch of employees have accused her of all kinds of abuse in the workplace, from physical assault to screaming at people and making them cry. There’s even a quote from one employee who says she felt like she had PTSD from working there!
The worst part is, this isn’t the first time Lynch has been accused of this kind of behavior. Back in 2017, she had to settle a lawsuit brought by a former employee who said she was sexually harassed and then fired.
Now, I’ve never worked in the restaurant industry, but I have plenty of friends who have, and I know how tough it can be. Long hours, low pay, and demanding customers can really take a toll on you. And if you add a boss who’s abusive into the mix? That’s a recipe for disaster.
What’s really crazy to me is that this article is coming out now, in the middle of the #MeToo movement and all the other reckonings that are happening in Hollywood and other industries. It just goes to show that abuse can happen anywhere, to anyone, and that we need to keep fighting for accountability and justice.
At the end of the day, I just hope that Barbara Lynch takes these allegations seriously and starts treating her employees with the respect and kindness they deserve. No one should have to put up with abuse in the workplace, no matter who they are or what industry they work in.
