Ohio State University (OSU) held its 2023 pro day workouts, showcasing some of its top Buckeye players aiming to catch the interests of NFL scouts. As reported by ESPN, there were roughly 60 scouts and representatives from all but three NFL teams in attendance.
What caught my attention in this article was the impressive showing from the OSU players. Several Buckeyes posted excellent results, including defensive end Jack Sawyer, who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.50 seconds, and wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, who recorded a 40-inch vertical jump.
Other players who made a strong impression in the workouts were defensive back Ryan Turner, offensive lineman Paris Johnson Jr., and linebacker Tommy Eichenberg. They each had impressive performances in the drills and exercises, showing off great athleticism and skill.
The workouts provide an opportunity for players to display their talents and hopefully improve their chances of being drafted into the NFL. With so many scouts in attendance, the stakes were high for these Buckeyes, but based on the results, many of them seem to have made a strong case for themselves.
Pro day workouts are always interesting to follow because they provide a glimpse into the potential future stars of the NFL. This year’s OSU pro day was particularly impressive, and it’s exciting to think about what these talented players will bring to the league. Overall, the Buckeyes delivered an exceptional display of their abilities, and we’ll be looking forward to seeing where they end up come draft day.
