Chicago Braces For More Taxes After Uber-Progressive Mayor Elected

So, I was reading this article about Chicago and their new mayor who’s apparently very uh, progressive. And let’s just say, things are about to get more expensive for shared ride users like Uber and Lyft.

Basically, this new mayor is planning to impose more taxes on ride-share services as it will generate more revenue for the city’s public transit system. It’s not just rideshares either; there’s talk of increasing property taxes and other expenses as well.

Honestly, I’m not surprised by this. Living in a major city like Chicago, I’ve seen my fair share of taxes and fees. But I guess it’s a small price to pay for accessible and reliable public transportation.

I think it’s important that we support our city’s efforts to improve its public transit system, even if it means sacrificing a few bucks here and there. Plus, with the growing concern over climate change and carbon emissions, it makes sense to encourage more people to use public transportation.

Overall, I think this new tax plan is a smart move for Chicago. It may not be the most popular decision, but it could lead to some much-needed improvements in our public transit system.
