So, there was this article I read about a TV show that made kids watch trans people get undressed.
Apparently, there was this British show called “Born in the Wrong Body” that would bring in transgender people to undress in front of children, as part of a lesson on gender identity. Some parents were really mad about it, and thought it was inappropriate and harmful to their kids.
Honestly, I can see why parents would be upset about this. When I was a kid, I remember feeling really uncomfortable around adults who were naked or undressed. It just made me feel weird and awkward, and I can’t imagine being forced to watch something like that on TV.
But on the other hand, I think it’s important for kids to learn about different kinds of people and experiences, especially when it comes to gender identity. There are so many misconceptions and stereotypes out there about trans people, and I think it’s really valuable for kids to see them as just regular people.
Overall, I think it’s a tricky topic with no clear-cut answer. But it’s definitely worth talking about and debating, because it raises important questions about how we teach kids about gender and sexuality.
