Yo, did you hear about Debbie Wong Restaurant in Ware? It’s been all over the news because apparently they owe $68k in taxes and had to close their doors. Crazy, right? I mean, I always loved getting their General Tso’s chicken and crispy spring rolls. But I guess they were struggling financially for a while now.
According to the article, Debbie Wong had been operating for over 30 years before this happened. It’s sad to see a long-standing establishment like that go down like this. And apparently, they had already been warned by the state Department of Revenue about the unpaid taxes, but they still couldn’t catch up.
It goes to show how important it is to stay on top of your finances, even if you’re a successful business like Debbie Wong. I heard that the owner was really devastated about the whole thing, and I can only imagine how hard it must be to let go of something you’ve built over so many years.
But on a lighter note, I’m glad we still have plenty of other good Chinese restaurants in the area, like Hong Kong City and Bamboo House. Gotta support local businesses, ya know? Anyway, that’s my two cents on the whole Debbie Wong closure. Sad news, but a good reminder to stay on top of your taxes and keep an eye on your expenses.
