Dollar General violates workplace safety standards again

So I was scrolling through my news feed earlier, and I came across an article that said Dollar General has violated workplace safety standards again. Honestly, I wasn’t that surprised- it’s becoming pretty common for big companies like this to have ethical issues. But I wanted to read more to see what was happening.

Basically, Dollar General is being accused of putting their employees’ safety at risk. They’ve apparently received numerous safety citations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for violations like blocked exits and insufficient or broken machinery. In fact, they’ve had over 100 citations in the past five years, which is definitely not a good sign.

Personally, I’ve never worked for Dollar General, but I have worked in retail before, and safety was always a hot topic. It’s not uncommon for stores to cut corners and ignore safety protocols to save time and money. But putting your employees in danger just to save a few bucks is not worth it.

It’s honestly frustrating to see these big companies getting away with breaking the rules- especially when it affects the safety of their employees. It just shows how much power they have and how much needs to be done to hold them accountable.

All in all, it’s important to remember that every employee deserves to feel safe at work. Hopefully, this article will bring more attention to this issue and encourage change to be made.
