Health U: March is Workplace Eye Wellness Month

So, I just read this super interesting article called “Health U: March is Workplace Eye Wellness Month” and it really got me thinking about the health of my eyes. Basically, the article talks about how we should pay attention to our eyes at work because we spend so much time staring at screens all day.

One of the main points is that we should take more breaks to rest our eyes throughout the day. This means looking away from our screens and focusing on something else for a few minutes every hour or so. Personally, I like to get up and walk around a bit during these breaks – it helps me to stretch out my muscles and feels good for my eyes too.

The article also recommends adjusting the brightness and contrast on our screens to prevent eye strain, and using specialized glasses that can help reduce glare and protect against blue light. I haven’t tried these glasses yet, but I know a few people who swear by them.

As for me, I’ve noticed that my eyes feel much better when I remember to take breaks and give them a rest. It’s easy to get absorbed in whatever we’re working on and forget that our eyes need a break too. But as the article emphasizes, it’s so important that we take care of our eyes – after all, we only get one pair!

In conclusion, I think this article is really important for anyone who spends a lot of time staring at screens for work. By taking some simple steps to care for our eyes, we can prevent eye strain, improve our productivity, and avoid lasting damage that could impact our vision later in life. So let’s all give our eyes a break, and protect our most precious sense.
