So, I read an article about Kourtney Kardashian and her latest photoshoot where she channeled Marilyn Monroe in some seriously sexy lingerie with platinum hair. It definitely caught my eye, but I have mixed feelings about it.
Basically, Kourtney did a shoot for V Magazine where she posed in lingerie inspired by Monroe’s iconic style. She had her hair dyed a bright blonde and even rocked a beauty mark just like Monroe. It’s definitely a bold look for Kourtney, who usually keeps things more low-key.
While I think it’s cool that Kourtney is experimenting with different looks and embracing her sexuality, I’m also a bit skeptical about the whole thing. On one hand, Monroe was a huge icon and there’s nothing wrong with paying tribute to her. But on the other hand, Monroe also faced a lot of objectification and scrutiny throughout her career, which isn’t exactly something we should be celebrating.
Overall, I think it’s an interesting topic to discuss. On the one hand, it’s important to embrace our femininity and feel confident in our bodies. But on the other hand, it shouldn’t be at the expense of perpetuating harmful beauty standards or reinforcing the idea that women are just objects to be admired.
