NDLEA declares prophetess, celebrity couple wanted for drug trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared a prophetess and a celebrity couple wanted for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking. This caught my attention because it’s not every day that we see people identified by their social status engaged in such activities. The agency stated that the couples were suspected to have been involved in smuggling banned substances into the country for quite some time.

The NDLEA specified that the prophetess is known to be based in Ogun State and was allegedly found to be in possession of almost two kilograms of various banned substances. Furthermore, the couple, who are known entertainment figures in the country, are suspected of smuggling large quantities of cocaine and other drugs into Nigeria from South Africa.

The NDLEA emphasized the need for people to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking to the agency, highlighting drug abuse as a major concern in the country.

While it is disappointing to see individuals with a certain level of influence involved in such activities, it highlights the need to tackle drug trafficking in Nigeria seriously. The menace of drug abuse can lead to various issues such as drug dependency, which poses a severe threat to the future of the country’s youth. Nevertheless, the authorities should ensure that the individuals involved in this act receive a fair trial and are held accountable for their actions.
