Netflix Drops Another Banger That Gets Basics Right: Good Guy Killing Armies Of Bad Guys To Save Girl

So, I just read this article about Netflix dropping another action-packed movie that seems to follow the same old script: Good guy kills loads of bad guys to rescue a helpless girl. But the catch is that this movie actually nails the basics like no other. It’s like the director read the manual about how to create an action flick and checked all the boxes.

The plot is simple but effective: A former Special Forces soldier is hired to protect a young girl who is pursued by a gang of ruthless villains. The good guy has to use all his skills and wits to eliminate the bad guys and save the girl. The action scenes are intense and well choreographed, with plenty of gunfights, car chases, and hand-to-hand combat. Yet, the movie doesn’t rely on spectacle alone. It also infuses humor, heart, and character development, making you care about the protagonists and rooting for them to survive.

Now, I know what some snobs might say: “Oh, another mindless action movie, how original.” But you know what? Sometimes you just want to watch a movie that entertains you and gets your blood pumping. You don’t always need a deep message, a complex plot, or an arthouse style to enjoy a movie. Sometimes you just need a badass hero who kicks ass and saves the day.

Plus, let’s face it, there’s something cathartic about seeing bad guys get their comeuppance. Sure, it’s not realistic or politically correct, but it’s satisfying. It’s like the ultimate revenge fantasy. And as long as we can separate fiction from reality, I don’t see the harm in indulging in some guilty pleasure once in a while.

Overall, I think this article highlights a phenomenon that is both fascinating and frustrating: The formulaic nature of popular culture. On one hand, it’s reassuring to know that certain genres and tropes can still resonate with audiences and provide comfort in uncertain times. On the other hand, it’s disheartening to see how little innovation or risk-taking is involved in creating mainstream entertainment. But hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? As long as we keep demanding more of the same, we’ll keep getting it.
