So, I just read this crazy article about a property being sold without the owner knowing! Basically, News 10NBC Investigates found out that a homeowner in Rochester was paying taxes on their property for years, only to have it sold out from under them without even being notified. Can you imagine? I mean, I’d be furious if that happened to me.

The article goes on to explain that the property was tax delinquent for a number of years, but the owner was still paying the taxes on it. Meanwhile, the city was selling off tax liens to property investors, who ultimately ended up foreclosing on the property and selling it. And get this, the original owner didn’t find out about it until they received a legal notice in the mail, months after the fact! That is just crazy to me.
