So, there’s an article I just read about how a personal finance class at Stuyvesant High School in New York City has become super popular. Apparently, lawmakers are now pushing for financial courses to be mandatory at all high schools.
Basically, the class at Stuyvesant teaches students how to manage money, save, invest, and prepare for the future. And apparently, it’s been a huge hit with the students. I mean, who wouldn’t want to learn about handling money, right?
But the thing is, a lot of high schools don’t offer these kinds of courses. And for me, personally, that’s kind of a shame. I remember being in high school and not having a clue about finances (let’s be real, I still don’t). I feel like if I had taken a class like this, I would have been much better prepared for the real world.
So, I think it’s great that lawmakers are trying to make financial courses mandatory in all high schools. It’s something that can benefit everyone, no matter what career path they choose. And let’s be real, who doesn’t want to be good with money? We all want to be able to save, invest, and make smart financial decisions.
Overall, I think it’s great that this personal finance class at Stuyvesant is getting such positive attention. It’s about time we start teaching high school students about finances, and hopefully, it becomes a requirement in all schools soon.
