Phidarian Mathis returns to Commanders workouts

Phidarian Mathis, a defensive lineman for the Nashville Commanders, has returned to the team’s workouts after a brief absence due to personal reasons. Mathis, who was a key player for the Commanders during the 2020 season, missed the first few weeks of the team’s training camp but is now back on the field and eager to make an impact once again.

Mathis is a versatile player who can play both inside and outside on the defensive line, making him a valuable asset for the Commanders. He recorded 21 tackles and two sacks in 10 games for the team last season and was one of their top performers.

Head coach Terry Robiskie is delighted to have Mathis back in action and believes he can help the team in a big way. “He’s a guy that can play anywhere along that defensive line and he’s really good at it,” Robiskie said. “He’s got some pass rush skills, but he’s also pretty good stopping the run.”

Mathis himself is excited to be back with the team after his absence. “I’m just happy to be back out here with my brothers,” he said. “I missed being out here and it feels good to be back.”

The Commanders will kick off their 2021 season on February 12, 2021, against the Los Angeles Wildcats. With Mathis back in the fold, the team is hoping to improve on last year’s 3-7 record and make a push for the playoffs.

In the world of sports, having a versatile and reliable player like Phidarian Mathis can make a huge difference for a team. The Commanders will be counting on him to be a leader on and off the field and to help them achieve their goals this season.
