So, I just watched this super cool video on Hulu called “Princess Anastasia’s Make-Up Tutorial” from the series “History of The World Part 2.” Let me break it down for you. Basically, Dove Cameron (from Descendants) plays Anastasia Romanov, the infamous princess who was rumored to have survived the execution of her family during the Russian Revolution. In the video, she gives a tutorial on how to do her signature eye makeup look.

But what’s really interesting is how they weave actual historical facts into the video. Anastasia was known for her iconic blue eyes, which actually came from her father’s side of the family, but the Romanovs also had a rare genetic disease called hemophilia that affected them. The video also touches on the conspiracy theories surrounding Anastasia’s supposed survival and how she was portrayed in popular culture.

As someone who loves history and makeup, this video was right up my alley. It’s a fun and creative way to learn about a piece of history and also see how that history has influenced our society today. Plus, Dove Cameron is a total babe and I definitely picked up some makeup tricks from her tutorial.
