The Star Wars franchise continues to expand its empire with new movies and television series on the horizon. What caught our attention is the return of Rey, the beloved protagonist of the recent Star Wars trilogy. Actress Daisy Ridley has been confirmed to reprise her role as Rey in an upcoming Disney+ series set within the Star Wars universe.
In addition to the Rey-centered series, there are several other exciting projects in the works. The highly anticipated Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series, set ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, will see Ewan McGregor return as the titular character. Andor, another series on Disney+, will follow Rogue One character Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna) in the early days of the Rebellion.
But it’s not just television series that are expanding the Star Wars universe. Patty Jenkins, director of Wonder Woman, has been tapped to direct Rogue Squadron, a feature film about one of the most famous squadrons in the Star Wars galaxy.
As a writer with personal experience in the Star Wars fandom, I am excited to see the universe expand even further. The franchise has always had a passionate fan base, and these new projects are sure to generate even more anticipation and excitement.
The key takeaway from all of this is that Star Wars is showing no signs of slowing down. With new stories and characters being introduced in multiple formats, the franchise is sure to continue captivating audiences for years to come.
