Hey! Did you see the article about the second grader who won the Future Chefs competition in Woodhaven? I thought it was super impressive and inspiring.
Basically, this little kid named Julian entered the competition with his recipe for roasted chicken and carrots, and ended up beating out all the other contestants to take home first place. How cool is that?
What I found most interesting though, was how he came up with the idea in the first place. Apparently, his mom had made the dish for dinner the night before the competition, and he loved it so much that he decided to enter it in the contest. And it ended up paying off big time!
As someone who struggles to cook anything more complicated than mac and cheese, I’m always amazed by people who have such a natural talent for cooking. And seeing someone as young as Julian accomplish so much in the kitchen is truly impressive.
But beyond just being impressed, I think it’s also important to recognize the importance of encouraging young people to pursue their passions and interests, whatever they may be. Who knows what amazing things they could achieve if given the opportunity and support to do so?
