This article I just read, called “Texas fitness influencer Brittany Dawn accused of scamming clients vows to ‘fight back’ ”, is wild. Apparently, this woman named Brittany Dawn, who has a big following on social media for her fitness content, has been accused of scamming clients out of their money. She sold them personalized workout and meal plans that were supposed to be customized to each person’s needs, but instead they all got the same generic plans that were copied and pasted. And get this - some people paid over $300 for this!
But here’s the kicker - when people started calling her out on social media and leaving negative reviews, she blocked them and refused to give refunds. It’s pretty messed up. And it’s not the first time she’s been accused of this - she’s apparently been doing it for years. Now she’s saying she’s going to “fight back” against the allegations, but it seems pretty clear cut to me.
It’s frustrating to see influencers taking advantage of their followers like this. I’ve definitely fallen for things in the past, like buying a product recommended by a celebrity without doing much research, and it sucks to feel like you’ve been taken advantage of. But maybe this can serve as a reminder to always be skeptical and do your due diligence. And, of course, not to trust someone just because they have a big following on Instagram.
