The Best Indie Movies: ‘Tangerine,’ ‘Eighth Grade,’ and More

I just read an article on the best indie movies, and it’s got me pretty excited. The article lists a bunch of films that have flown under the radar but are absolute gems. Trust me, you don’t wanna miss out on these!

First up is “Tangerine”, a movie that was entirely shot on an iPhone! It’s about two trans sex workers navigating their way through the streets of Los Angeles, and it’s both hilarious and heartwarming.

Next on the list is “Eighth Grade” which focuses on a 13-year-old girl trying to survive middle school. This coming-of-age film is so relatable and brings back all the anxiety and awkwardness of our own middle school days.

Another great indie movie mentioned in the article is “Lady Bird”, starring Saoirse Ronan. It’s a beautiful exploration of mother-daughter relationships, teenage rebellion, and identity.

But my personal favorite has to be “Moonlight”. It’s an Oscar-winning film that follows a young black man named Chiron as he grows up in a tough Miami neighborhood. The cinematography, acting and direction in this movie are extraordinary.

Indie movies often don’t get the attention they deserve, but they’re often the most interesting and unique films. They tackle themes that aren’t usually showcased in mainstream movies. So, if you’re getting tired of the same old Hollywood blockbusters, check out some of these indie gems. You won’t regret it!
