So I just read this article about the Pac-12 and how they’re struggling to get their games on TV. Apparently, they’ve turned to The CW network to show their games, which seems like a desperate move if you ask me.
Basically, the Pac-12 has been struggling to get a decent TV deal for a while now. They used to be with ESPN and Fox, but those contracts expired and they couldn’t get anything better. So now they’re going with The CW, which isn’t typically known for sports.
It’s a weird move, but I guess they’re hoping that anyone is better than no one at this point. Personally, I don’t really care about the Pac-12, but I can imagine it’s frustrating for fans of those teams who can’t watch the games on TV.
On a personal note, I remember when the Big Ten Network launched and I was super excited because I could finally watch all of the Michigan football games. But then I realized that not everyone had access to the channel and some games were still blacked out. It’s frustrating when you can’t watch your favorite team play, so I understand what Pac-12 fans are going through.
Overall, I think this article shows how important it is for sports leagues to have good TV deals. It’s not just about making money, it’s about making sure that fans can actually watch the games.
