'To be able to say we’re married is big': Couples celebrate 10 years after marriage law changed

I just read this awesome article about how same-sex marriage became legal ten years ago in the UK. It’s crazy to think that it wasn’t legal before! The article talks about how couples who have been together for years and finally got to tie the knot are celebrating this anniversary with renewed gratitude for the law changing. One couple even said “To be able to say we’re married is big” - and I totally get it! It’s something so simple that many people take for granted, but it’s huge for the LGBTQ+ community.

The article also talks about how the Pride movement played a huge role in making the law change happen. I remember going to my first Pride parade a few years ago and feeling so moved by the energy and positivity of the crowds. Seeing all those people come together to celebrate love and acceptance was really powerful. It’s amazing how far we’ve come, but there’s still so much work to do to ensure that everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, is able to live their life to the fullest without fear of discrimination or harm.

Overall, this article is a great reminder of how important it is to keep fighting for equality and justice for all. It’s also a wonderful celebration of love and commitment, and a reminder that marriage isn’t just for straight couples - everyone deserves the right to marry the person they love. Here’s to another ten years of progress and love!
