Toad-in-the-Hole Recipe

So I just came across this awesome article about Toad-in-the-Hole, and it’s making my mouth water just thinking about it. Basically, it’s a classic British dish that’s a bit like a big, savory pancake baked with sausages.

The article dives into a few different variations on the recipe, but the basics are pretty simple: whisk eggs, flour, and milk together, add some herbs and seasoning, pour it into a baking dish with your sausages, and bake until it’s golden brown and puffy. It’s the ultimate comfort food, perfect for a lazy Sunday brunch or a chilly winter evening.

Now, I personally have never made Toad-in-the-Hole myself, but I’ve definitely had it at pubs and restaurants around London. It’s always such a satisfying, hearty meal, and definitely one that’s steeped in British culinary tradition.

Overall, I think it’s interesting to explore these classic dishes that have been around for decades (or even centuries!) and still hold up today. Cooking is such a great way to connect with history and culture, and Toad-in-the-Hole is a perfect example of that. Plus, who doesn’t love a good sausage pancake?
