So, I was just reading this article about how Lionsgate TV is in the early stages of developing a ‘Twilight’ TV series. Yeah, that’s right, the vampire-human love story that the world went crazy over in the mid-2000s is making a comeback!
From what I gathered, it seems like this new series will be more of a companion piece to the original books and movies, rather than a straight-up remake. Apparently, Lionsgate TV wants to explore more of the world and characters that were only briefly touched upon in the original stories. So maybe we’ll finally get some more insight into the Volturi or the Quileute tribe?
As a former ‘Twilight’ fanatic (I may or may not have owned multiple Edward Cullen posters), I have mixed feelings about this news. On one hand, I’m excited to see more of this world and potentially fall in love with the story all over again. On the other hand, I’m a little nervous that they might ruin a beloved franchise with bad writing or casting choices.
Either way, it’s clear that there is still a huge audience for ‘Twilight’ out there. The original books and movies were massively successful, and I have a feeling that this new TV series will be just as popular. Plus, with the rise of streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, there’s never been a better time to release a binge-worthy show.
Overall, I’m cautiously optimistic about this ‘Twilight’ TV series. I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for any updates or casting news, but for now, I’m just happy that my inner middle-schooler has something to look forward to.
