'You Should Focus On Creating...' Mani Ratnam Has This To Say About Glorification Of Violence In Movies

So, I just read this super interesting article about Mani Ratnam’s take on glorification of violence in movies. Man, I gotta say, it really caught my attention because it’s something that we see so much in movies these days.

Basically, Mani Ratnam, who is a well-known Indian filmmaker, believes that movies should focus on creating empathy and compassion rather than glorifying violence. He argues that violence has become so normalized in our society that we don’t even realize the impact it has on us.

According to Ratnam, movies have a huge responsibility in shaping our attitudes towards violence. If we keep seeing violence being portrayed in a positive light, it’s only going to reinforce the idea that it’s okay to use violence to solve our problems. On the other hand, if we see empathy and compassion being celebrated, it can have a powerful impact on our lives.

I totally agree with Mani Ratnam on this one. I’m a big movie buff myself, and I’ve noticed how much violence is glorified in movies these days. It’s almost like filmmakers are trying to outdo each other in terms of how much blood and gore they can show on screen. Personally, I find it really disturbing.

But it’s not just about personal preferences. The impact that movies have on our attitudes towards violence is a serious issue. We need to be more mindful of the messages that we’re sending to our audiences. If we want to build a more peaceful and compassionate society, we need to start with the media that we consume.

To sum it up, Mani Ratnam believes that we should focus on creating empathy and compassion in movies, rather than glorifying violence. I couldn’t agree more. It’s time for us to start thinking more critically about the impact that movies have on us, and to use our platform as filmmakers to create positive change.
