Bill could crack down on WA pet stores who source dogs from out-of-state puppy mills

I was just reading a super interesting article about a potential bill in Washington that could put a stop to pet stores sourcing dogs from out-of-state puppy mills. Basically, the bill would require any pet store selling dogs to only source them from shelters or rescues within the state.

This is huge news because puppy mills are notorious for their inhumane treatment of dogs, and many pet stores get their puppies from these mills. The bill is an attempt to crack down on that and promote adoption from shelters instead.

As someone who has adopted from a shelter before, I can attest to how fulfilling it can be to give a loving home to a dog in need. Plus, these dogs often come with their own set of challenges and quirks that make them unique and special.

Overall, the bill is just one step in the right direction towards improving the lives of dogs across the state. It’s important for us to be aware of where our pets come from and to make informed decisions when it comes to choosing where to adopt from.
