Carroll University holds HAWS dogs graduation day

Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin recently hosted a graduation ceremony for a group of very special students: dogs. These furry graduates were all former residents of the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS), and they underwent over a year of training to become certified therapy dogs.

During the ceremony, each dog received a diploma and a special collar marking them as certified therapy animals. The dogs and their handlers then walked down a red carpet to cheers and applause from the audience.

The event not only celebrated the hard work of these dogs and their trainers but also highlighted the benefits of therapy animals in healthcare settings. Therapy dogs can provide emotional support and comfort to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities.

Carroll University’s partnership with HAWS is just one example of how organizations can work together to train and certify therapy dogs. With the growing demand for these animals, there is a need for more programs like this to help meet the needs of healthcare facilities and patients.

In the end, this heartwarming story shows us that even our furry friends can contribute to making the world a better place. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of animal welfare and the ways in which dogs can impact our lives in positive ways.
