Detroit’s first dog park and beer garden, Barkside, planned for late summer

Detroit is set to get its first dog park and beer garden, and it’s called Barkside. This exciting new destination is scheduled to open in late summer, and is located on the eastern edge of Corktown. One of the most appealing aspects of the venue is that it’s completely dog-friendly. It boasts a spacious outdoor area where dogs can run around, play and relax while their owners enjoy a cold beer or cocktails with friends. The owners of the park, Gina and Wayne Fortson, say that Barkside was inspired by their own experiences as dog owners. They wanted to create a place where owners and their dogs could hang out and have fun, while also promoting local businesses. The park will feature a water station for thirsty pups, as well as several seating areas for visitors. There will also be food trucks, live music and other events throughout the year. This new dog park and beer garden is an exciting addition to the Detroit community, as it provides a fun, safe and social environment for residents and their beloved pets.
