So there was this awesome article I just read about some dogs getting rescued from the dog meat trade. It was on the Positively Podcast and it seriously made my day. Basically, this woman named Pip Tomson went to South Korea and saved a bunch of pups that were going to be slaughtered and sold as meat. How messed up is that?!
But anyways, Pip teamed up with a local organization called Nabiya-Imsil Saving Korean Dogs and was able to rescue 11 dogs. It wasn’t easy though. She had to fly them all the way back to the UK where they could get proper care and find forever homes.
What I loved most about this story was how these dogs were able to finally experience some love and kindness. I’ve volunteered at animal shelters before and it’s heartbreaking to see how some of these animals are treated. The idea of them being sold for meat is just…I can’t even.
It’s important to spread awareness about the dog meat trade and the organizations that are working to end it. If you’re interested in supporting them or just want to learn more, check out the Positively Podcast and Nabiya-Imsil Saving Korean Dogs. Let’s help these pups have a better life!
