Robotic dogs, drones put into action in Lower Manhattan parking garage collapse

This article I read about robotic dogs and drones being used in Lower Manhattan caught my attention. Apparently, a parking garage collapsed and left one person trapped underneath the rubble. Instead of sending in actual humans to investigate, they sent in a team of robotic dogs and drones to assess the situation.

From what I gathered, the robotic dogs were able to crawl through tight spaces and give a better view of the area while the drones were used to survey from above. This allowed the rescuers to get an accurate and safe understanding of the situation before sending any actual humans in to help. Thankfully, the trapped person was rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.

I think it’s amazing that technology has come so far that we can use robotic animals and flying devices to help keep humans safe. It reminds me of those futuristic movies where robots take over the world, but in a good way!

In my opinion, this kind of technology is especially important in emergency situations where time is of the essence. It can decrease the risk of injury to rescue workers and increase the chance of finding survivors quickly. I hope that this kind of technology becomes more widely used in the future.

Overall, I’m glad I stumbled upon this article and learned about this innovative use of technology.
