So, I just read this article about a woman from Phoenix who is on a mission to find her stolen service dog. It’s such a heart-wrenching story. Basically, this woman named Abby spends all her time with her service dog, a black and white pup named Echo. She has PTSD and Echo is trained to help her cope with anxiety and panic attacks.
One day, Abby went into a store and when she came back out, Echo was gone. Can you imagine how devastating that would be? I mean, I get worried when I can’t find my phone in my purse. But this is a whole different level of stress.
Anyway, Abby has been searching high and low for Echo ever since. She’s been posting flyers, talking to people, and even hiring a private investigator. It’s pretty amazing to see how determined she is to find her furry best friend.
The thing that really struck me about this article is how important service dogs are to their owners. I had no idea how much of an impact they could make. I mean, I’ve seen dogs wearing vests that say “service dog” before, but I never really knew what that meant. Now I realize how life-changing they can be.
It’s so sad that someone would steal a service dog. I hope Abby is able to find Echo soon. In the meantime, I think I’m going to appreciate my dog even more.
