So, I was reading this article about a crazy incident that happened in Montgomery County. It’s pretty sad, but also kind of unbelievable. Long story short, a teenager was walking two dogs on the side of the road and was hit by a car. The dogs died, and the teenager is in critical condition.
The article doesn’t really give a lot of information about what caused the accident or who is at fault. But, it does mention that this is a pretty common occurrence in that area. Apparently, a lot of people drive too fast or don’t pay attention to pedestrians and animals on the side of the road.
Honestly, this doesn’t surprise me that much. I grew up in a rural area, and people would always drive like maniacs on the back roads. It was like they thought they were in some sort of NASCAR race or something. But, it’s not just a rural thing. Even in more urban areas, people have a tendency to drive recklessly or ignore traffic laws.
Anyway, I think this article is important because it highlights just how dangerous careless driving can be. We need to be more aware of our surroundings and take responsibility for our actions on the road. Whether you’re in a car or walking/running/biking, you need to pay attention and follow the rules of the road. It could mean the difference between life and death.
